Using front zip area to get the asymmetrical neck line

These are the photos after fitting.

The front need to be more balloon shape 

and the collar needs to stand more 

strongly by itself.

Dress draping with jersey

I decided to use this wool jersey 

rather than using silk satin, 

because it's fall / winter collection and the

satin would not match with my collection.

and also I changed the entire shape of the dress

to this...

3rd Shape_Design Process

For the 2 looks I need to make for 

this semester,

I will make 1 jumpsuit that goes with 

short jacket I drape before..

I will use medium weight wool for this top 

and use wool jersey for the sleeves and the rest of for it.

I made exaggerated box pleats for this jumpsuit, but 

I'm not sure whether I will use this or not..

2nd Silhouette_Design process

This is the 2nd draping exercise to 

make the dress form from

the inspiration of 'Cubism'.

I used the satin to work on, just

because it was easy for me to 

work for draping.

Pleats on right shoulder make

the dress enable to have natural drape look.

From this shoulder point,

the pleats go to the left side of the waist.

And those pleats on waist area

are flowed to the front hem with

beautiful folds with satin.

Silouette Searching

From the 1st toile..

I found that I need the shoulder pads! 

in order to support the shape of power shoulder.

So....

 I bought the really thick cotton shoulder pads

 from Tessuti in Surryhills.

I got 2 pairs to do some experiments with them.

These are the photos I played with the pads.

This side looks very interesting in terms of layering

them to get really high shoulder shape.

I might need to stitch them all together to get

them fixed..

Need some really hot steam Ironing ...

yeah~

The front pleats on the bust area

are meant to be twisted to get the wavy look.

and

the front hem line is also meant to be curved like that.

I think I need to work on more at waist and hip area 

to shape more like balloon.

And that's the back view.

Silhoutte fitting_1

From the first draping class,

I found this cocoon shape for my coat.

AND..

This is the photo of 1st fitting on the stand.

I break the panel line on the side of the bust to get it more shaped and curved,

and joined with front block.

Finally, I join the sleeve with body of the coat.

It will attach this on the position where the pleats start.

Black marker line is the final seam line will be.
